EXPLORE THE MONUMENTAL ZONE OF THE PARK GÜELL

As you arrive and enter Park Güell through the main entrance, you will notice houses on either side of you. These are the Porter’s Lodge Pavilions. The house on the left was once the concierge’s office and waiting room, while the one on the right, Casa del Guarda, served as the porter’s house. Head to the Dragon’s Staircase in front of you to find Park Güell’s iconic landmark - El Drac, a mosaic-covered salamander halfway up the steps. You'll reach the Hypostyle Hall at the top of the staircase, with 86 impressive Doric columns and intricate details above. From here, you may continue in different directions. Atop the Hypostyle Hall, you'll find a large open area called Nature Square, which serves as the main terrace of Park Güell. Here, the colorful Serpentine Bench, created with Gaudí’s Trecandis mosaic style, wraps around the edge. Continue your journey through the park and discover the many remaining features hidden around the park!

VISIT THE GAUDÍ HOUSE MUSEUM

Before it was a museum, this house was Antoni Gaudí’s residence. He lived there from 1906 until 1925. It was originally built as a model house for the Park Güell residential project and was designed by Francesc d’Assis Berenguer i Mestres, a close friend of Gaudí. After Gaudí's passing, the house became privately owned until it was turned into the Gaudí House Museum and opened to visitors in 1963. ENJOY MAGNIFICENT VIEWS OF BARCELONA

While taking in the beauty present in Park Güell, try to notice and appreciate the views of Barcelona visible from multiple locations in the park. Since Park Güell is located at a higher elevation than most of Barcelona, some spots can provide incredible panoramic views of the city. One of the best viewpoints is Nature Square (Plaça de la Natura), the large terrace above the Hypostyle Hall.. There, you will see benches along the edges, which are used as vantage points for magnificent views. Also, you may go even higher and sit on the Serpentine Bench located by the Nature Square. After thoroughly exploring all that the Monumental Zone of Park Güell has to offer, we suggest you continue towards the Forest Zone.
